Is Bottom of the 9th a True Story?
When sports fans and movie buffs sit down to watch a gritty redemption drama, a common question always pops up: Did this actually happen?
Released in 2019 and starring Joe Manganiello and Sofía Vergara, the gritty drama Bottom of the 9th (originally titled Stano) hits all the right notes of a classic, emotional comeback story. Set in the gritty neighborhoods of the Bronx, it follows Sonny Stano, a once-promising baseball phenom trying to pick up the pieces of his life after spending 17 years in prison for a tragic, accidental crime.
