A Musical Legacy: The Children of Southern Gospel Royalty, Jeff and Sheri Easter

In the world of Southern Gospel music, few names carry the deep-rooted heritage, warmth, and acclaim of Jeff and Sheri Easter. With multiple Grammy nominations, Dove Awards, and decades of touring under their belts, the couple has built a remarkable career sharing faith and harmony.

However, ask Jeff and Sheri what their proudest achievement is, and they will invariably point away from the stage lights and toward their family. Raising three children—Madison, Morgan, and Maura—while traversing highways and touring schedules has been a defining chapter of their lives. Growing up essentially backstage and on tour buses, the Easter children represent a seamless continuation of a rich musical dynasty.

Growing Up on the Road

For the Easter children, the phrase “born into the business” was a literal truth. True to family tradition, each of the three children made their very first stage appearance when they were just days old (Madison at 12 days, Morgan at 9 days, and Maura at 11 days).

Rather than viewing the touring lifestyle as a burden, the children have frequently spoken about how tight-knit and joyful their upbringing was. Growing up immersed in the Gaither Homecoming tours and their parents’ independent ministry allowed them to forge unique bonds not only with each other, but with legendary figures across gospel music.

Meet the Children

1. Madison Easter

As the oldest of the three siblings, Madison spent the vast majority of his youth and early adulthood traveling alongside his parents. Deeply multi-talented, he has contributed as a vocalist, writer, and instrumentalist.

Beyond performing on stage, Madison developed a keen eye for production. From ages 14 through 20, he worked extensively behind the scenes as a camera operator for the Gaither Homecoming videos. After touring full-time with his family until he was 26, Madison stepped away from the relentless road life to pursue other avenues. He resides in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, Shannon, and their two sons, Miles and Rhythm, where they remain active in creative and musical pursuits.

2. Morgan Easter (Smith)

Morgan, the middle child, shares her mother Sheri’s striking vocal gift and began performing with the family group when she was just 14 years old. Long before that, she captured hearts as a young artist, releasing solo albums at ages five and nine, and participating in the popular Gaither Homecoming Kids video series (God’s Zoo).

Her talents have earned widespread industry recognition, including the Singing News Fan Award for Horizon Individual and SGN Scoops’ Sunrise Award. Morgan married Landan Smith—who famously began drumming for Jeff and Sheri as a child prodigy—and the couple has a daughter named Ryman Pauline, keeping the generational musical heartbeat alive.

3. Maura Grace Easter

The youngest of the siblings, Maura Grace, grew up sharing the stage and continuing the family tradition of touring. Alongside her powerhouse vocals, Maura has a deep passion for the arts, expressing her creativity through drawing and excelling in theatrical studies. Bringing a vibrant, youthful energy to the family lineup, she represents the newest wave of the Easters carrying forward a multi-generational message of faith and family harmony.

The Evolution of a Dynasty

What makes the story of Jeff and Sheri Easter’s children so compelling is the preservation of family values in an industry that often tests relationships. While some families buckle under the pressure of life on tour, the Easters built a culture of mutual respect, humor, and shared faith.

Today, whether writing, producing, or raising the next generation of grandchildren (such as Miles, Rhythm, and Ryman), Madison, Morgan, and Maura prove that the true heart of Jeff and Sheri’s ministry isn’t just heard through a microphone—it lives on through their children.
